Merlin

Merlin is a 7 year old Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie). He is a wonderful boy who will try his heart out for you, and more than lives up to the legacy before him. His sire earned his conformation championship, in addition to his UD in obedience, HSAs, STDsd, and JHD in herding, and his MX and MXJ in agility. This high level of versatility also earned him a VCX through the American Shetland Sheepdog Assocation and additionally would have earned him a VTCH through the Association of Working Shetland Sheepdogs. His dam earned her herding championship (and is pursuing further herding in a variety of venues) and works ducks, sheep, and cattle in addition to earning her AX and AXJ in agility.

Merlin follows in his sire's footsteps with pursuits in all venues. He has earned his UKC Grand Championship with multiple group wins and a Reserve Best In Show, his PT in herding at only a year of age, almost finished his MX/MXJ in agility, and we plan to begin competing in obedience this year (already having trained through Open level). His first love is definitely herding, however, and is the venue we'll pursue most seriously with him.
